Key responsibilities:

• Perform structural welding tasks on steel components in workshop and on-board vessels.
• Operate SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) processes in 3G & 4G positions.
• Ensure welding quality meets industry standards and adheres to project specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures.
• Conduct pre-welding preparations such as material selection, cutting, and surface preparation.
• Inspect welded joints for structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations.
• Follow ISO, HSE, and company safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
• Work within project deadlines, allocated man-hours, and quality control parameters.
• Assist in repair and fabrication of steel structures used in marine, offshore, and industrial applications.
• Maintain and operate welding equipment, tools, and machinery efficiently.

Qualifications & requirements:

• Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Trade Apprenticeship, or Secondary Education with a recognized welding certification.
• Certification in SMAW and FCAW welding processes (3G & 4G positions).
• Knowledge of additional welding techniques is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in ship repair, offshore fabrication, or heavy industry welding.
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and structural integrity requirements.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and meet project deadlines.
• Age below 40 years old preferred.
