Working as a Nurse in the UK NHS

Basic Requirements to Apply

Must be a Registered Nurse

Possess an active Nursing License

At least 2 years of experience (preferred)

Proficiency in English

IELTS: Minimum score of 7 in reading, speaking, and listening, and 6.5 in writing

OET: Minimum grade of B in reading, speaking, and listening, and C+ in writing.

Pursuing A Nursing Career In the UK

Show proficiency in the English language

For IELTS, achieve at least a score of 7 in speaking, listening, and reading, and 6.5 in writing. Alternatively, for OET, secure a minimum grade of B in speaking, listening, and reading, and C+ in writing.

Finish the NMC's Eligibility and Qualification Application process

The applicant must set up an online account and fill out the eligibility and qualification application. Within 14 days, the NMC will verify eligibility for registration.

Undertake the Computer-Based Test (CBT)

The CBT ensures the NMC that the applicant possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to practice nursing in the UK. Results will be accessible 48 hours post-examination.

Participate in a Direct or Virtual Interview & Obtain a Job Offer

Join a Face-to-Face or Virtual Interview & Receive a Job Offer Interviews will be coordinated by Global Nurse Force. Once you get a job offer, proceed with the pre-employment verifications.

Obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship from Employer

Once the CBT exam is successfully passed, employers issue the CoS. The reference number provided on the CoS is utilized for the Tier 2 visa application.

Apply for the Tier 2 Health & Care Worker Visa

The applicant will file their Tier 2 visa application and undergo a biometric procedure. Visa approval typically comes within a 3-week timeframe.

Journey to the UK

Global Nurse Force will coordinate your one-way flight to the UK, provide airport pick-up, arrange temporary lodging, and facilitate an orientation session. Remember to collect your Biometric Resident Permit (BRP) upon arrival.

Successfully pass the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

The OSCE evaluates the applicant's clinical expertise. Results are sent via email within five business days of the examination date.

Finalize the NMC Registration process

Provide documentation for health, character, and language proficiency. The NMC will review your application over a span of 35 days. Upon approval, you'll receive a Registration Number (PIN) from the NMC

Is the OET examination the only language proficiency test accepted, or can I provide IELTS or other test results?

For the specific visa processing related to our program, the OET examination is the required test. While IELTS and other tests are recognized globally, the OET focuses specifically on medical English, which is essential for nurses in the UK.
