Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and develop unique and innovative pastry recipes to enhance the menu offerings.
- Craft a wide variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, bread, cookies, tarts, and confections, with a focus on quality and presentation.
- Prepare custom cakes and showpieces for special events such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate celebrations.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards in all preparation and baking processes.
- Monitor ingredient inventory and manage procurement to maintain efficient operations.
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and skill development.
- Collaborate with other chefs and management to plan seasonal menus and special promotions.
- Maintain and operate pastry kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet customer and business demands.
- Provide excellent customer service by meeting specific client requirements for custom orders.
Qualification Requirements
- Diploma in Hotel Management or a related culinary certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Creativity and attention to detail in crafting and decorating baked goods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team and under high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands.
