POSITION: AUTO TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL)

Purpose of Job:
Carry out the routine maintenance and breakdown repair of the QatarEnergy owned vehicles, Equipment, Fire Vehicles, Ambulances and Lifting Equipment in the workshop and QatarEnergy sites and locations.

Educational Qualification:

• • Completion of secondary education from a recognized institution.
• • 2 years Automobile Diploma or Certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute.
• • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
• • Must have a valid Qatari Plant and heavy duty-driving license. (i.e. Crane, Loader, Forklift, Trailer, etc.)
• • Should possesses Third party lifting certificates to perform required functional test on equipment & vehicles.
  
  Experience:
• • Minimum of ten years experience in the maintenance and repair of a range of industrials vehicles in oil & gas atmosphere.
• • Demonstrated experience of maintenance planning on equipment and spare parts management
• • Demonstrated experience of trouble shooting and repair on a range of heavy vehicles and equipment systems, especially cranes and trucks, including engine rebuild, Fire Truck and equipment, hydraulic systems pneumatic booming an rigging gear.
• • Experience of using trouble shooting tools to find problems on vehicle systems.
• • Should have sound knowledge of hydraulic systems on mobile equipment viz. Cranes, Forklifts and Truck mounted Cranes.
  
  Duties and Responsibilities:
• • Report to the QatarEnergy REPRESENTATIVE or his deputy.
• • Carries out preventive and routine periodic maintenance and repair works as instructed in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer’s recommendations on QatarEnergy fleet of equipment.
• • Undertake the planned job of repair and maintenance as per instructions and performs duties with good workshop practices. Should be safety conscious and adheres to QatarEnergy’s Safety requirements.
• • Performs regular maintenance checks on mobile equipment and maintains a log of such inspections.
• • Checks and collects spare and required tools for carrying out the maintenance schedules on mobile equipment in workshop and or site locations.
• • Comply with the company’s environmental and health and safety procedures.
• • Maintain a full history of work undertaken within the maintenance management system.
• • Ensure that the equipment and tools used are in good condition.
• • Assist in the preparation of wok procedures and spares list.
• • Assist other technicians or skilled helper to complete their assigned job as instructed by Workshop Foreman.
• • Keep workshop and workshop premises neat and tidy always.
• • Perform other related duties as directed by QatarEnergy REPRESENTATIVE or his deputy.
